oUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19
In view of the COVID-19 crisis and at the request of Indian Government's think-tank, Niti Aayog, Trust for Environmental Education has supported people in Pudukkottai District in Tamil Nadu through need-based relief work.
TREE identified around 120 families, who were in need of dry ration and vegetables, in the Vadavalam Panchayat in Pudukkottai District. We procured the requirement, visited the village, and contributed rice, tomatoes, and onions to the needy families.

We also conducted an awareness session on the steps one must take for personal hygiene, and clarified the rumours that were spreading about medical professionals who were being stigmatised during the pandemic. These were conveyed to them in regional language Tamil. The points shared by the Member (Health) & CEO, NITI Aayog and Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 25.04.2020 at 3.30 PM during their YouTube video conference was noted down and shared among the public during the awareness session.

We have registered as a partner in the India Co-Win Action Network portal and expressed our availability to connect help-seekers with help givers and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in rural areas.
